Carpet Roll Unwinding Unit

The Carpet Roll Unwinding Unit sits at the infeed of the carpet backing coating line and feeds the carpet from the roll into the line in a controlled, even way. The carpet roll is placed on idle (undriven) carrier rollers on a heavy-duty welded steel frame. Roll diameter and the other technical features are designed to the requirements of the system the unit will be used in.

The unit has no motor or drive of its own. The carpet is unwound and advanced by the drive of the accumulator that follows it, and carpet tension is controlled entirely through the accumulator. Working passively, the unwinder adds no tension of its own to the carpet. The free-running rollers run on bearings, and their surfaces do not damage the carpet and keep slip to a minimum. The frame is designed not to deform under the heaviest roll; metal surfaces are painted or protected against corrosion.
